Out Loud HSV monthly open mic and features create a space for literary arts and spoken word to grow! Join us in Pizzelle's Confections, RR4 of Lowe Mill ARTS & Entertainment, Come early to sign up for the open mic, where you will have 5 minutes to share your work. Then we will have a 30 minute feature with Josh Baker!

Huntsville native Joshua Baker is a rising senior Social Work major at Alabama A&M University. A recipient of the International Baccalaureate Diploma, Baker graduated valedictorian from Columbia High School in May 2015. Baker is a member of Alabama

A&M's Honors Program, Social Work Association, and serves as the President of Alabama A&M's Poetry Club. He has had the opportunity to feature at Out Loud HSV and perform at 100 Thousand Poets for Change Birmingham. He has had work published in Out Loud! HSV: A Year in Review 2016, Aura Literary Arts Review, and Hypertrophic Press. Additionally, Baker has recently self-published a poetry chapbook entitled This Here Side of Creation.

Out Loud is dedicated to fostering new voices and encouraging participation, so even if you have never been to an open mic before, please come on down and hear some new interesting voices and share! This is a free show, but donations are strongly encouraged. Doors at 6:00, show begins at 6:30.
