Out Loud HSV Anthology

Anthology Submissions will open November 16th - December 24th, 2025

The Out Loud HSV anthology is an annual publication that celebrates the work read aloud at our events over the course of the past year. The Anthology serves as a yearbook of sorts, capturing the many voices of our community. Submissions for the anthology are open from November 16 - December 24, 2025.

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES:

1. You are able to submit up to three pieces that you have read at an Out Loud HSV event from December 2024 onward. At least one will be chosen for print. Fiction, poetry, song lyrics, nonfiction, etc. are all accepted.

2. Submitted pieces must have been read at an Out Loud event to qualify!

3. Submissions must be in one document, .doc or .docx file. No other formats will be accepted.

4. Please give a title and a byline (the piece's name and your name) to each piece in the document submitted EXACTLY as you wish them to appear in the text.

5. Submissions must be sent to president@outloudhsv.com with ‘Out Loud Anthology Submission’ in the email subject line.

6. You MUST include a brief bio with your submission. Bios must be written in the third person and must be no longer than 5 sentences. SUBMISSIONS WITHOUT BIOS WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED FOR PUBLICATION.

7. Submissions must be sent to president@outloudhsv.com no later than 11:59PM on December 24th. No late submissions will be accepted.

8. Previously published pieces will be accepted, though you must properly credit the publication and the year.

9. AI work will not be accepted into the anthology. Submitted pieces must be your own original work. All submissions will be checked by an AI writing detector.

The anthology release is set for February 15th 2026. We hope to see you at the release party at Straight to Ale!
