Out Loud HSV Anthology

Submissions open November 19th - December 20th, 2023

The Out Loud HSV anthology is an annual publication that celebrates the work read aloud at our events over the course of the past year. The Anthology serves as a yearbook of sorts, capturing the many voices of our community. Submissions for the anthology are open from November 19 - December 20.

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES:

1. You are able to submit up to three pieces that you have read at an Out Loud HSV event from December 2022 onward. At least one will be chosen for print. Fiction, poetry, song lyrics, nonfiction, etc. are all accepted.

2. Submitted pieces must have been read at an Out Loud event to qualify!

3. Submissions must be in one document, .doc or .docx file. No other formats will be accepted.

4. Please give a title and a byline (the piece's name and your name) to each piece in the document submitted EXACTLY as you wish them to appear in the text.

5. Submissions must be sent to president@outloudhsv.com with ‘Out Loud Anthology Submission’ in the email subject line.

6. You MUST include a brief bio with your submission. Bios must be written in the third person and must be no longer than 5 sentences. SUBMISSIONS WITHOUT BIOS WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED FOR PUBLICATION.

7. Submissions must be sent to president@outloudhsv.com no later than 11:59PM on December 20th. No late submissions will be accepted.

8. Previously published pieces will be accepted, though you must properly credit the publication and the year.

The anthology release is set for February 18th 2024. We hope to see you at the release party at Straight to Ale!
