Join us for an action packed hour long poetry slam! Poetry slam is the competitive art of performance poetry designed to engage both poets and audience, where participants are judged by members of the audience to advance 3 rounds until a winner is chosen. The winner of each event will receive glory and celebration, along with a $10 roll of quarters provided by our lovely sponsor, Karma Rags. Free admission, donations strongly encouraged! We'll kick things off with a 4 spot haiku slam at 6:45. 

Between the second and third rounds we're going to have a very special featuring from the Alabama Student Association for Poetry - ASAP! This team is heading up to Chicago to compete at the National Poetry Slam, and they're making a stop to see us on their drive so please bring extra to donate to their travel expenses! ASAP is a UA student run organization dedicated to building and maintaining a thriving poetry scene in Tuscaloosa and surrounding areas. They host a biweekly open mic and slam, ASAP Tuesdays, at Monarch Espresso Bar, so if you're ever in the area you've got to check 'em out!
