Dr. Jessica Temple leads Formal Affair Part I: Rhyme & Meter!

The first half of this two-part workshop will teach you the nuts and bolts of poetry: rhyme and meter. We’ll get a crash-course in the basics of metered poetry and learn through examples before trying our hand at some metered lines, working up to metered rhyming couplets (two lines). This class works great as a first introduction to these formal elements of poetry or as a refresher if it’s been awhile since you’ve worked with them.
