Okay, okay, I get it, I haven't been updating this blog nearly as much as I should. But come on, I've been busy! You believe me don't you?
So much has happened since the last post, celebrating the opening of the Out Loud HSV Studio. I think having a headquarters setup and ready to use has helped encourage the momentum of all that Out Loud HSV is doing. We've been collaborating on the Stories Under the Stars series at Burritt on the Mountain which has been a fantastic experience. We've been working with Hometown Throwdown Productions to bring poetry and music together for audiences. We've gotten out into the Downtown Huntsville scene with the Rocket City Reading Tour. And let me tell ya, we're just getting started.
On top of our open mics and poetry slams gaining an incredible amount of traction, we've got a Renaissance Reading on July 9th in the Flymo Theatre exploring all the weird wonderful fantasy sci-fi stories and poems out there. We've got a workshop series in the works, kicking off on July 21 & 28 with a two day poetry slam workshop. We're going to do more reading tours. We're bringing in some out of town features. I'm in the Studio Wed & Thursday 12-6, Friday 12-8, and Saturday 10-6, getting my hands dirty, sharing literary arts with the masses.
So basically this blog post is just here to catch you up, to thank you for your support, and to promise I'll be better about writing more in the future, even if it is just a quick writing prompt or reading suggestion. But really, thank all of you for supporting, for sharing, for listening, for growing. This community is my heart, my church, my home. Thank you. <3
