Then we will have a 30 minute feature with Jerri Hardesty!

Jerri Hardesty lives in the woods of Alabama with husband, Kirk, also a writer. They run the nonprofit organization, NewDawnUnlimited, Inc., dedicated to poetry publishing, production, performance, promotion, preservation, and education. This includes organizing and hosting the BamaSlam Montevallo Poetry Slam in Montevallo, Alabama, as well as other events around the state. (NewDawnUnlimited.com). Jerri has won more than 1300 awards and titles in both written and spoken word/performance poetry and has had over 400 poems published. She attended the University of Montevallo (BS, MA), where she was also briefly an adjunct professor. She recently served as the President of the Alabama State Poetry Society, and was the 2009 ASPS Poet of the Year.

Out Loud is dedicated to fostering new voices and encouraging participation, so even if you have never been to an open mic before, please come on down and hear some new interesting voices and share! This is a free show, but donations are strongly encouraged. Doors at 6:00, show begins at 6:30.
