Join us for a brief open mic celebrating the release of the Out Loud HSV Anthology and purchase your own copy to take home! Then stick around for our first poetry slam of the year which will be a preliminary competition in forming our 2017 slam team! Winners of this slam will not only get the $10 roll of quarters provided by Karma Rags and their face on the next poster, but the top four poets will also advance to the semifinals round! This puts them one step closer to being on the Out Loud HSC 2017 Slam Team with the options to perform regionally and nationally! Please note: Poets are only able to sign up for one preliminary round to give everyone an opportunity to compete.

Poets should bring three poems to perform, each should be no longer than 3 minutes or points will be taken off your score. No props, no costumes – just you, the mic, and your words. Audience, you are vital too. Whether you are a judge or just a raucous viewer, we need your love and encouragement to keep the energy high and the momentum rolling.

This show is free but donations are greatly encouraged and will go towards the Flying Monkey Theatre and the 2017 Slam Team fund.
