Out Loud HSV monthly open mic and features creates a space for literary arts and spoken word to grow! Come early to sign up for the open mic, where you will have 5 minutes to share a creative writing piece. Then stick around this months featured reader, C. Steven Manley, who will be doing a 30 minute reading celebrating the completion of his science fiction series, the Paragons Trilogy.

C.Steven Manley (most people just call him 'Chuck') has lived the bulk of his life collecting skills and experiences that have made him into something resembling a human Swiss Army Knife. He spent his youth on the wrong side of most tracks and always going places he was told not to. Odd jobs and odder companions got him through... his childhood before he joined the United States Air Force where he learned about airplanes, electronics, and what it meant to genuinely think for yourself while still maintaining some sense of self-discipline. From there, his life was a series of successes and misadventures that led him into a variety of jobs including cruise control transducer tester, engineering test technician, door to door jewelry salesman, mental health care worker, obesity skin care technician, Cardiovascular Technologist, and, finally, stay at home dad and writer. He's been writing since he was eight and has no intention of stopping regardless of whether or not anyone reads his brainsweat. He lives in Alabama with his wife, kids, grandkids (no, not in the same house), dogs, cat,
and ever growing collection of books. Check out www.cstevenmanley.com for more information.

Out Loud is dedicated to fostering new voices and encouraging participation, so even if you have never been to an open mic before, please come on down and hear some new interesting voices and share! Doors at 6:00, show begins art 6:30.
