Out Loud Huntsville is back with a brief open mic followed by our first Poetry Slam of the year! This poetry slam will be a preliminary qualifier to attend the Blackberry Peach Poetry Festival in June. 8 poets will compete in this head to head style competition for 3 rounds, judged by the audience. The top 3 poets of the night will move on to a finals slam via zoom in April to compete to be the Alabama State Poetry Society representative at the Blackberry Peach Poetry Festival. Winner of the prelim slam will also receive $50 courtesy of the Alabama State poetry society!

Join us on March 17th at The Speakeasy at Straight to Ale. Doors/Signup at 6 PM, and the show will start promptly at 6:30 PM. Open Mic readers will get 5 minutes to share their work, please respect the time limit so we have enough time for the poetry slam. Poetry slam poems must be 3 minutes or less each.
