Join us in the Barking Dog Arts Theater for an 8 spot open mic followed by a feature from Imani Williams! Then we will have an 8 spot poetry slam.
Imani ”J. Lyte” Williams is a writer and poet from Orlando, Fl. A recent graduate of The University of Alabama, she became involved in slam poetry through the student organization Alabama Student Association of Poetry “ASAP”. She won The Undergraduate Creative Writing Competition (Poetry) in 2018, and the earned a spot on the ASAP: The Monarchy Slam team for the 2018 & 2019 season. She also was a member of “Team Blackout” that won second place in the historic Rustbelt Poetry Slam (2019). J. Lyte’s life goal is to use poetry to encourage other to tell their story, whatever it may be.
